Where it all began

Scott started his adventure into motorsport by building a car for sprints, a Mk1 Golf GTI and sending off for his non race national B licence... from that day on he has been hooked... His experience has taken him from sprints through to Castle Combe Saloons  in the Procom Tomcat, Castle Combe Special GT's in his Radical which he personally completed a chassis up restoration on. Through to TKM Karting, as well as keeping his eye in competing in sprints with his road cars leading to many a class win... Most recently he has gone back to Castle Combe with his 106 collecting 5 consecutive class wins and the overall class D class win for the season in the Hot Hatch Series, next year he will be moving up to class C with a new 16V engine so lets see how far up the grid he can climb. He is also rebuilding a new engine for his Riley Brooklands to embark on a campaign to break all the hill records for Class 2 in the VSCC having already broken the Prescott Long Course Record in 2022.

Scott's current race car is a Pug 106 GTI which he shares with a close customer Tim Swift.

Scott bought the car at the start of 2023 and despite the advertised spec has had to make several improvements including safety related ones, including a bespoke sealed box below the floor for the fuel pump, which was previously just installed without any protection right above the exhaust!...  we ended up going through the whole car replacing all the suspension including a new rear beam as following set up checks with string lines it was clear on of the rear arms was bent!... The car was successfully campaigned in the Hot Hatch series with Scott winning his class in all races. It was Tim's first year of racing having obtained his race licence at 60 years of age, but with coaching from Scott and sharing of telemetry data Tim has knocked many seconds of his lap times and done very well in his class in the Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship taking home a few nice trophies of his own.
